It's the most wonderful time of the year:)

Now that the kids are back in school I'm back to being a morning person. I love only having one school to deal with. This hasn't happened since 1993 when Jessica started at Thoreau. It's nice to have a few minutes with Mikey and MK when I take them to seminary at 5:50. Then the day is mine until I pick them up from school at 2:10. So far field hockey has been a lot of fun for MK. Her team is 2-0-1. Here she is after her game against McLean yesterday. She is also running to be a freshman class officer in the SGA. They take the top 4 vote getters and there are about 15 kids running, so it's an uphill climb for sure. Mikey is in SGA and is working hard on Homecoming. He designed all the posters that they will be using to advertise the dance this year. We had a fun visit with Bruce's brother Paul who came for his annual trip from Oregon to attend his 4th conference in DC. We have had hardly any rain for the past month. You could pretty much say we're in a drought. But that's not to stop it from raining on the mutual pool party tonight. Pretty good chance of thunderstorms. But then it's back to being a drought conditions for the next 10 days. That's DC weather for you.
