Tonight while Bruce and Mike were at the Wizards game, Mary Kate and I decided to try to make a fondant cake. Since it was 38 degrees and raining there was no way I wanted to go to the store so we found a recipe for fondant on-line and scraped up whatever we had around the house. I baked the cake and draped the fondant and MK decorated.
Not too bad for our first attempt:)

Not bad is a serious understatement! I assume you'll be bringing it over tomorrow morning?
ReplyDeleteHey, your date/time seems to be on Pacific Standard. I wish it was 7:43 p.m.
ReplyDeleteCami is seriously into decorating cakes right now, but we've never tried fondant before because we thought it was too big of a pain. With how beautifully yours turned out, and your around the house fondant recipe, I'll have to convince her to give it a try. Would you mind sending the link over for your easy fondant recipe?

ReplyDeleteHere's the link. I also didn't bother using butter cream (we had run out of confectioner's sugar) to de-crumb the cake before putting the fondant on and it still turned out alright. Read the reviews-- most everyone seems to love this recipe:) I was really surprised how easy it was to work with.
